  • Business data: Quotes, invoices, job records, client and supplier information, financial data, documents, and photos you upload.

  • Payment information: Billing details processed securely through our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store your full credit card number.
  • Communications: Support requests, feedback submissions, and email correspondence.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Boss Tradie service.
  • Process payments and manage your subscription.
  • Send transactional emails (e.g., quote delivery, invoice reminders, password resets).

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your business data (quotes, invoices, etc.) for any purpose other than delivering the service to you.

We use trusted third-party service providers to operate the platform. These providers act as data processors and only access your data as necessary to perform their services:

  • Stripe — Payment processing
  • Clerk — Authentication and user management
  • Supabase — Database and file storage
  • Resend — Transactional email delivery
  • Vercel — Application hosting
  • PostHog — Product analytics (anonymised usage data)

Each provider maintains their own privacy policy and security practices. We select providers that maintain appropriate data protection standards.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information and business data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you cancel your account, we will retain your data for 30 days to allow for re-activation or export, after which it will be permanently deleted. We may retain certain data longer where required by law (e.g., financial records for tax purposes).

7. Cookies & Tracking

We use essential cookies and local storage for authentication and user preferences (e.g., theme settings). We use analytics tools to understand how the service is used. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences.

8. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
